Amanda Marie. Part 2

I got the shot at 11:am and around 12:30 I was starting to feel pain in my stomach. I was like ‘it has only been an hour and a half I should not be able to feel anything yet cause the shot lasts for 5 hours’ and it was very intense pain. So the nurse and doctor checked me and said it would probably hurt – I didn’t feel a thing. My perennial area was so numb still and the doctor was like ‘oh my goodness you are 10 centimeters and the baby is a +4 station like right there’ LOL! and the pain I am feeling is probably a pushing pain but since my perennial was so numb I could not feel it down there. So they were telling me WAIT not to push yet cause the baby will come right out – which was okay with me because I did not feel the urge to push just, the pain of a contraction. So once all was set up and the doctor was ready, he told me to push. This was a different doctor, a really nice one mind you. I told him I didn’t know if I could, cause I couldn’t feel anything down there. So once I felt the pain in my stomach I tried to push. He was saying ‘great job I was such a good pusher’ and I didn’t even know I was doing anything LOL! Then he had to do an episiotomy. He said her head was just to big. So out came the scissors and OMG – the sound of it was like he was cutting through thick cardboard ugh!!! I have never had an episiotomy before, I always tore. Once that was done I continued pushing with a great cheering section and the doctor told me to look down and there was my daughters head looking right at me.

Out came Amanda Marie after 9 minutes of pushing. That was it! The doc was very impressed and wished he had more pushers like me, LOL!

She weighed in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Her head was 36 cm and her chest was 35 centimeters which amazes me since we only dilate to 10 cm – ouch!
